about

Released in 2000. This album contains 4 tracks - "Broken Caravan", "I wanna get stoned and pick....", "Misty", and "R.O.C.K rock" - from the band's first release "Swing Lotion" (now a very rare and valuable cassette). Swing Lotion was recorded and mixed direct to DAT at Shabby Road studio (Stuart Batten's tractor shed) on a cold wet night in1997. Swing Lotion had a recording budget of $150 - !0% of which was spent on fuel to get there. A stage black was wrapped around the four posts of the tractor shed (which had no walls of its own). Besides the band a snake sought shelter in the comfort thus provided. We played live acoustically into 6 x SM58 mics. there was no monitoring. The rest of the album was recorded in the relative comfort of Shady Rest "studio" to 1/2" audio tape. Cover photo was taken by Lily Bell (age 3).
